Do to circumstances beyond our control our Lake Mead sign ups will be moved from the Sportsman’s Warehouse in Henderson and Las Vegas to our “Host Hotel” the Hawthorn Inn & Suites at 910 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, Nevada 89015. As usual sign ups will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Boat draw will be conducted as each team registers. There was a question regarding fish transport at the WON Bass Nevada Team tournaments at Lake Mead on January 10 & 11.
The question regarded the transportation of fish caught during the tournament being transported to another area of the lake. The following is the “Tournament Rules” dealing with this situation;
WON Bass Official Tournament Rules, Rule 13 – Fish Transport – “Transporting live fish taken in one area and releasing them in another area for the purpose of “seeding” or establishing a population in a new area during a practice period, during the tournament, or 30 days prior to a tournament is strictly prohibited and are grounds for disqualification.”
I don’t believe this was the intent but in the future any fish released by the anglers after the weigh in will be released just outside of the host marina as per the tournament director’s instructions. Violations of the rule will result in immediate disqualification of the team responsible and the participants possibly being banned from any other WON Bass Nevada Tournaments.
This rule does not apply to fish released by a live release boat hired or used by the tournament organization.
